"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." - Oscar Wilde
About my daughter, Elsa SennerI am pleased to introduce you to my daughter, Elsa Senner, a tremendously gifted visual artist and illustrator based in Honolulu, Hawaii. I have had the privilege of watching her creative talents develop since early childhood. Elsa has always approached life, as well as her art, with a fearlessness, trying new techniques and experimenting with whatever she could find to work with. As a lover of nature, she brings a keen eye to her work which reflects her strong abilities to observe and invent. Elsa has worked as a graphic designer for several restaurants in Oahu including the title of "in-house designer" for Likos Tap and Table.
Like her great-grandmother before her, Elsa also attended The Museum School in Boston, MA, where she received her BFA. Her work has been commissioned by the Boston Yoga School, Ket Beverage, Voice Found (a nonprofit organization) and many more. Her illustrations have appeared in a book of poems, A Dog Runs Through It, published by W.W. Norton. I don't think either my daughter or I imagined how working together would deepen our relationship, but it has. In fact, we have grown as mother and daughter in many unexpected ways. Our creative work has been one of the deepest points of finding each other. Through our love of making and creating things, we have found a way to better understand the ways we are different, and celebrate those differences with respect and joy.
