Paper
I love plants and working with paper, making eco-dyed prints or hand-made papers and then using these in collages or small hand-made books. When making a collage I prefer to use my own photographs whenever possible to express a story or bring personal meaning to the piece.

Collage
The process of making a Collage—gluing multiple images in various juxtapositions and forms—is to me one of the most personal acts of art-making. I like it because I can use all of the other art mediums that I experiment with, combining them into my collage to create something new.
Eco-dye
Finding plants from my garden, arranging the leaves and pedals on mordant paper, then steaming this over heat to release and transfer the pigment onto paper is pure magic! The color is stripped from the plant and often does not resemble what it looked like before it was "cooked."
Joomchi
These papers were made during a workshop I took with Jiyoung Chung who is a master Joomchi artist. Hanji is a traditional Korean hand-made paper made from the bark of mulberry trees grown in Korea. The fibers are extremely strong and resilient and can come to feel like cotton or soft leather when finely worked and finished. The process is very physical—you get to toss and throw the paper around to break up the fibers so they will adhere and stick together. It was a total workout and a real blast! I would like to explore working with this process more.
3D Art
I collect things that catch my eye at yard sales and flea markets. I have lots of stuff that people would consider "junk" hanging around my studio. Someday I hope to use some of it by turning it into something new. There are times I need to come off the paper, and break out of the norm to express what it is I'm trying to say.
Book Art
"It is fairy dust and wanderlust that guide our hands to create what our hearts desire..." I have always loved looking at picture books and am drawn to all kinds of hand-made books. Whether I am altering a children's book or creating pages in my own art journals it is where I find "my happy place."

PAINTI have the planet Mercury (Communication & the Mind) within a degree of its higher octave, Uranus (Electricity & Surprises) in the FIRE sign of Leo. Ever since I can remember, I liked to paint to create and make things with my hands, because it helped to calm me.

PHOTOGRAPHYWhat I like about photography and taking pictures is the immediacy of it, as well as the surprise factor. My photographic work spans the better part of 30 years, including pinhole images taken from a self-made camera, manipulated Polaroid SX-70s, photo-transfers and aerial shots of crop circles.

Other Astrology Heart offerings
We also offer personal astrology readings, events and workshops and prints, cards and gift items.
"The Celestial Art Cards are beautiful!! I purchased them to give with gifts. I thought I would use them in lieu of a TO/FROM gift tag. But they are so pretty I don’t want to part with them. My latest thinking is to give them out to clients at the end of their astrological reading. For example, if my directive is to have someone step into their North Node in Aries, handing them an Aries card before they walk out the door is a great visual and reminder of what that energy looks and feels like." - Tammy Oliver
