New Moon in Taurus with help from Venus and Charliko

I am writing this now as the Moon and Venus have moved to 4 degrees of Gemini and are exactly conjunct my natal Moon at 4 Gemini and Ascendant at 5 Gemini encouraging me, along with Mercury (my chart ruler), to communicate through the written word some thoughts and connections that are taking place inside of me. 

New Moons are great times to seed intentions and this particular New Moon in Taurus was a really potent and beautiful one.  It has me feeling into my creativity and sense of abundance in totally new and subtle ways. I have been writing poetry and making lots of art, which I hope to share here in future posts. I also think a little known asteroid called Charliko, may be contributing to this as well.

Charliko is about to enter the opposition point of her discovery chart at 6 Leo, which happens to be the exact position of my natal Sun. Charliko is an asteroid that was discovered in 1997, it is also represented as the Centaur who was the wife of Chiron. Charliko has been referred to as one who can hold space by, “Spinning Grace.” There are not that many Astrologers who have written or work with Charliko, Melanie Reinhart is one that comes to mind.

I have been tuning into the energetic frequencies that she represents lately because of the synastry of her discovery chart and my own natal chart. I believe that since this astroid is such a relatively new discovery in the Astronomical world, and while Uranus is in Taurus, I would not be at all surprised if we will be hearing more about her from Astrologers in the future as these energies begin to enter the collective psyche. 

So the story goes she started life as a water nymph much like Chiron’s Mother, the sea nymph Philyra, until one day she was spotted by Chiron who could see her true essence, at which point she decided to leave the watery realms as a Nymph and spend the balance of her life on Earth as a Centaur along the side of Chiron as his equal. I imagine them as ‘the great power couple’ at the foot of Mount Pelion, mentoring and healing the other Centaurs and Asteroid Goddesses that sought out their counsel.

During this New Moon in Taurus on May 11, 2021 Charliko was forming a harmonious trine with Venus at 4 degrees of Aquarius. Over the past few months I have been feeling into the subtle frequencies of Charliko, who currently at 4 Aquarius is showing us our connectedness as males and females and teaching us about the subtle energies of Patience and Temperance.  She also happened to be conjunct my natal Charliko at 3 degree retrograde in Aquarius, (an Air sign) which may be why I am drawn to speak of her right now.

At any rate, I believe she is instrumental in helping us heal the wounds of the Devine Masculine and the Devine Feminine that exist within all humans. Helping to weave these energies so we can come to new understand and write a more inclusive story.

This Taurus New Moon is encouraging us on both a personal and collective level to become more intimately involved with our own embodiment of what gives us meaning and value. Venus, the ruler of Taurus, who is recently emerging from the serpentine underworld and is now visible as an evening star represents the cycles of our humanness. 

While Venus was in the underworld phase, I was having some serious health issues and it felt like my life was mirroring the story of Inanna who undergoes deep metamorphosis and transformations while on her underworld journey. I was born when Venus was an evening star between the crown and soul star gate, so there is a strong resonance with this cycle that Venus is in and the aspect she was making with Charliko. I too have emerged with a renewed sense of gratitude for my body, this vessel that houses my soul. And a new relationship to Earth, the planet where we as human beings are all connected.

I can’t wait to see what other discoveries are made about Charliko over time and what other creations I have within me that are yet to be born that may reveal more of both her Beauty  and Grace.
